You are invited to join the Alumni Book Club on Wednesday, September 11 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm (CT) to discuss The Falcon: A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner by John Tanner. The discussion is facilitated by David Woodward, Director of the Museum Studies Program, and instructor in the History, and African and African American Studies Programs at UMD.
The Alumni Book Club is free to join and participants are responsible for purchasing their own copy of The Falcon: A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner.

About the Book
"The Falcon: A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner" is an intriguing autobiographical account of John Tanner, also known as the Falcon. Tanner was captured by the Ojibwa tribe in the early 19th century and lived among them for thirty years. The memoir describes his experiences, including his assimilation into the culture of the Ojibwa people, his struggles, and his eventual return to white society.
