Marian Reed, SD; on February 12, 2019, Dr. Ronald M. Reed received the Distinction in Creative Achievement from Arts South Dakota and the South Dakota Arts Council at the 24th biennial Governor’s Awards in the Arts in Pierre, SD.  Dr. Reed will receive the award for Outstanding Support of the Arts by an Individual.


Michael Fedo, Coon Rapids, MN; published his tenth book, "Don't Quit Your Day Job: The Adventures of a Midlist Author," a memoir of his 5-decade writing career.


Katherine Flannery Dering, announced a new book, AftermathAftermath includes a variety of poems, its instigating event, and the sentiment behind the title is the death of my nephew from a heroin overdose.



Larry Stauber Jr., Duluth, MN; named Appeals Court judge.


Trick Runions, Loveland, CO; has two fossils named after him. Zygastrocarcinus Tricki is a Pierre Shale Cretaceous crab approximately 80 million years old, found in Pueblo, CO. Vaderlimulus Tricki is also named after him and Darth Vader due to the helmet shape of the only Triassic (275 myo) horseshoe crab found in North America in Idaho.


Brian Kobilka, Palo Alto, CA; speaking at the Life Sciences Baltics conference held in Vilnius, Lithuania on September 26-27, 2018.

Phil Rolle, Duluth, MN; hit a hole-in-one at Lester Golf Course at the FSG Open Golf Tournament!  The shot helped lead his team to a first-place finish and, compliments of the golf course, the feat aired on the Duluth news media that same evening.



Hettianne Cekalla, Rapid City, SD; selected as the Senior Area Manager for the Bismarck office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.  


Katherine Flannery Dering, Bedford NY; published her new book Aftermath.


Stephanie Hammitt, Cloquet, MN; named the Interim President of Fond Du Lac Tribal and Community College.

Kirk Tingblad, Red Wing, MN; received his George Foster Peabody Award Statue as a Director of Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs. The Peabody Award is presented by the College Of Journalism & Mass Communications Of The University Of Georgia.


Kevin Noreen, Duluth, MN; was named the Chief Financial Officer of Duluth-based Moline Machinery LLC.


Pat Cutshall, Hermantown, MN; named ALLETE Vice President and Corporate Treasurer.

Jean Gustafson, Brainerd, MN; attended the Strategic Solutions for Solo & Small Firms Legal Conference held August 5 – 7, 2018 in Duluth.  Jean Gustafson was part of Matthew Foli’s real estate demonstration of joint conveyances.


Kevin Cardille, Oronoco, MN; approved as District Superintendent for a new three-year contract at La Crescent-Hokah school.

Jeff Feldman, Eagan MN; awarded 2018 MN Monthly "Best Real Estate Professionals" three years in a row.

Michael Glaccum, Springfield VA; retired from the US Air Force in 2015 and is currently working in the Pentagon at the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.



Elissa Lindsoe, Minneapolis, MN; hired as Chief Financial Officer at Minnetronix.


Todd Antony, Onalaska, WI; approved by the School District of Lacrosse Board of Education as the new Director of Elementary Education.


Joyce Peppin, Rogers, MN;  announced she will be running for re-election to the District 34A seat representing the cities of Dayton, Maple Grove and Rogers in the Minnesota House of Representatives.


Pastor Robert Drake, Grand Rapids, MN; officially installed as the first openly gay pastor of Moorhead's First Presbyterian Church.

Chandra Subramaniam, Northridge, CA; is the new Dean of CSUN’s David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.


Sherrill Brodin Yeaton, Duluth, MN; earned a Doctor of Education in Higher Education from Concordia University-Portland, December 2018.


Marc Achterkirch, Owatonna, MN; announced as the new Activities Director at Owatonna Public School.

Mike Goldammer, Tuscaloosa, AL; begins as the new Director of tennis for Center Court Tuscaloosa.


Teresa Hopke, New Prague, MN; named one of the members of The (Real) Power 50 for her success with Life Meets Work.


Doug Welnetz, Duluth, MN; hired as Finance Manager at the Whole Foods Co-op.



Timothy C. Garding, Tampa, FL; hired by the law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick. He practices in the areas of administrative/government law, labor and employment, and commercial litigation.  

Dr. David Moyer, Hibbing, MN; joined Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet as a hospitalist.

Michael Browers, St. Michael, MN; promoted to product marketing manager within the Cardio & Vascular business unit of Integer Holdings Corporation.


Heather Driscoll, Madison, WI; running for the Dane County Board of Supervisors District 6 seat, representing parts of East Madison.

Andrew Bennett, Duluth, MN; joins Swim Creative as a copywriter.

Abby Ferri, Minneapolis, MN; began a new role at Hays Companies in Minneapolis. Also leading a Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) common interest group with the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and am currently President-Elect of the Northwest ASSP chapter that covers MN, Northwest WI, ND, and SD. 

Manila Luzon, (aka Karl Westerberg), currently competing on Ru Paul Drag All-Stars on VH1.


Chelsea J. Helmer, Duluth, MN; hired as an attorney at Maki & Overom, Ltd. She will be practicing in the areas of Municipal Law, Economic Development, Real Property, Business Planning, Corporate Law, and Estate Planning.

Adam May, Minneapolis, MN; announced that he will be leaving Baltimore TV news show for a communications job in his home city of Minneapolis.


Erin Holznagel, Merrifield, MN; earned the Distinguished Service Award and was named Burnsville Police Department 2017 Officer of the Year.

Meryl Lucchesi-Freyberg, Tyler, MN; works as Assistant Director of Disability Services at Southwest Minnesota State University and was accepted into a doctorate in Educational Leadership program at Moorhead for fall 2018.

Scott Glew, Elk River, MN; nominated for Teach of the Year.


John Shuster, Superior, WI; won USA’s first Olympic curling gold medal in curling.

Dave Lislegard, Aurora, MN; announced he will seek the DFL Party’s nomination for House 6B. As Mayor, Dave is an advocate for mining, healthy rural communities and “the Iron Range way of life,” and hopes to bring his passion for jobs and a brighter economic future for the region to the Legislature in St. Paul.

Richard S. Brown, Bloomington, MN; named a Five Star Wealth Manager for the past five years. Five team members at JNBA Financial Advisors – with offices in Bloomington and Duluth.


Vicky Goeser, West Fargo, ND; promoted to Director of Release Management at Discovery Benefits.


Chris Schwartz, Norwood Young America, MN; earns industry’s top designation, joins exclusive NAA CAI group of approximately 860 worldwide.

Jennie Lennick, San Francisco, CA; opened her own storefront in San Francisco’s Mission District, where she sells her small-batch clothing and home textiles.



Aaron Haugen, Minneapolis, MN; hired as closing administrator of the Entrepreneur Fund.


Matthew Falk, Kerkhoven, MN; engaged to be married on May 5, 2018, at Peace in Christ Lutheran Church to Brooke Bursch.

Amber Burns, Duluth, MN; joins the Playhouse Family Theater as Education Program Artistic Director full-time.

Brian Goldner, Cromwell, MN; is the new project manager of Kennecott Exploration’s Tamarack Project.

Lucas Busta, Lincoln, NE; completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of British Columbia where he studied the chemicals plants use to survive drought. Busta recently awarded a fellowship from the National Science Foundation's Plant Genome program to study plant chemicals in the crop sorghum, a close relative of corn.



Eric Cyr, Duluth, MN; announced debut album Callused. The debut album, Callused was released on November 16, 2018. The band played an album release show at The Barrel Room in Duluth, as well as additional shows around Duluth. 


Jennifer Doebler, Portland, ME;  is the new Director of Student Life at the Maine College of Art in Portland, ME.

Raymond Jobe, Duluth, MN; began working for St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services as a SHIP Coordinator in Virginia, MN implementing strategies for obesity and chronic disease prevention.


Meghan Hurley, Minneapolis, MN; hired as an Assistant Strategist. She will help with project management and client communication as well as conduct competitor research.

Moriah Grace, Monona, WI; departed for Peace Corps service in Tanzania. As a Health Community Services volunteer, Grace will work with local health clinics, community-based organizations, and non-governmental organizations to help raise awareness of and respond to community health concerns.

Sidney Morin, Excelsior, MN; competed in the 2018 Olympic hockey games and won Gold for Team USA Women's Hockey.

Nevada Littlewolf, Virginia, MN; became the Tiwahe Foundation president and CEO as of March 1, 2018.

Sydney Arens, Princeton, MN; hired by the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Foundation to serve as its first winter wilderness educator in it's an effort to increase youth participation in national forests.

Jessie Mathews, Faribault, MN; debuts as Graduate Assistant Coach of UMD's Women's basketball team.

Laura McDowell, Sauk Rapids, MN; training to become a rural OB-GYN of a groundbreaking new residency program through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Amanda Sommers, Waseca, MN; joined the Minnesota FFA Foundation as program coordinator.

Alex Iafallo, Eden, NY; playing his first year of NHL hockey with the LA Kings.


Andrew Achter, Menomonie, WI; began the Red Bull "Can You Make It?" Challenge in Europe to compete against 200 other teams for a grand prize.
