Join Robert W. Sterner, Director of the UMD Large Lakes Observatory (LLO), for a Bulldogs Behind the Scenes webinar on the significance of large lakes to society and how LLO's work has contributed to understanding these ecosystems. The webinar will also discuss future plans for a new facility for LLO.
The Large Lakes Observatory at UMD stands alone in having a mission to perform scientific studies on the large lakes of Earth. Its 40-60 students, staff, and faculty, combine biology, chemistry, geology, and physics to build interdisciplinary, foundational knowledge about most of the planet's liquid, surface, and fresh water.
